Board: The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board is an 9 member board comprised of 8 certified WOC Nurses who are elected by the certificants and serve 4-year terms and 1 public member who serves a 2-year term. Board members are responsible for making critical decisions regarding the certification process, budget and strategic planning. There are two face-to-face meetings each year in addition to monthly conference calls. Open elections are held as needed. Click here to access list of 2007 Board

Nominations to WOCNCB® Board: If you (or someone you know) would like to submit a nomination to serve on the WOCNCB® Board, simply mail the following documents by the deadline of April 30th in years in which nominations will be held: Curriculum Vitae, nominee's current photograph, WOCNCB® Candidate Statement Form (click here to access). You will be notified of nomination acceptance.

WOC Examination Committee: The WOC Examination Committee consists of a minimum of 12 WOC certified nurses who represent all 3 areas of certification, all areas of the country, and all levels of practice. WOC Examination Committee members are responsible for working with the testing corporation, writing items for the exams, compiling exams, and evaluating exams. Foot & Nail Examination Committee: The Foot and Nail Examination Committee consists of a minimum of five members. Foot and Nail Examination Committee members are responsible for working with the testing corporation, writing items for the exams, compiling exams, and evaluating exams. Marketing Committee: The Marketing Committee currently consists of 3 Board members. However, we would like participation from our certificants. The committee is responsible for marketing the WOC credentials and planning the WOCNCB® session and booth at the WOCN Annual Conference. Meetings are conducted by conference call. Professional Growth Program Committee: The Professional Growth Program Committee (PGP Committee) consists of 6 certified WOC nurses who are responsible for the development and maintenance of the PGP Handbook as well as the evaluation of candidate PGP applications. Credentialing Review and Appeals Committee: This committee consists of a Chair and a Public Member, who are Board members, members of the WOC Examination Committee and members of the PGP Committee. The purpose of this committee is to conduct structured investigation of all formal notification of credentialing violations presented to the WOCNCB® and determine an appropriate resolution. Public Member: The Public Member of the Board is a person who has used services of a WOC nurse. The Public Member helps to ensure that WOCNCB® policies are implemented for the benefit of the consumer.

Item Writing: Anyone can submit items (test questions) for use in the WOC examination and we encourage individuals to do so. Draw on current clinical experience to write questions. No item will be refused. The Examination Committee will review and edit as necessary. All submissions become the property of the WOCNCB®. Please submit your items to the WOCNCB® National Office.
