WOCNCB board-certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence and Foot Care nurses are highly educated and prepared with a minimum of a baccalaureate education and registered nurse licensure.
Before taking the certification exam, these specialty nurses:
attended a WOCN Society-accredited educational program with a minimum of 80 hours didactic education and 40 hours of clinical practicum specialtyor
have the experience of 50 contact hours and 1,500 clinical practice hours per specialty within the last five years.
And, every five years these specialists recertify by examination or portfolio submission to verify and validate current scientific and best-practices knowledge.
