For my CFCN recertification, do I need to provide proof of the activities I enter in my recertification portfolio? Copies of educational certificates earned, hours worked in podiatry, proof of presentations? If so, how do I enter them? Thank you!

Thank you for your question. You will need to keep the proof of what you enter in your portfolio in case you are selected to be audited. Please read the PGP handbook carefully as it explains how to enter your activities into the PGP portfolio

Hello, are courses related to Psoriasis accepted for wound recertifications?

Psoriasis is part of wound care. It must be through an accrediting organization or state board. It will say on the certificate that you received.

Hi I have a couple questions 1. I attended WOCNEXT 2026. I want to use some of the presentations that I attended, that were listed in the PP category. When I applied this under my Ostomy Dashboard, do I list the presentation as speciality or professional practice? 2. when filling out all the presentations/CE's I have earned, the comment section under each one is not mandatory to fill in, correct?

Thank you for your questions. When applying PP category, it is coded as Professional Practice. For WOCNEXT, you only have to list each title of the session.

Question:
Hello, I am completing my PGP for wound recertification; I used academic education for professional practice points. One of the courses is 4 credit hours, which should give me 20 points, but since I cannot put 20 points, I divided to section, each section, I put 2 credit hours with 10 points, which gives me at the end total of 20 points. Just wanted to make sure it is okay before I submit it.

Thank you for your question. Please refer to page 13 of the PGP handbook. Academic Education only gives you 10 points total. You cannot add the same class to receive an additional 10 points.

Is the cwocn called clinical nurse specialist?

Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) are registered nurses who typically hold a master's degree, at minimum, along with national certification denoting advanced knowledge and clinical skills specific to a particular patient population or specialized area of nursing. Therefore, this designation (CNS) is not issued by our credentialing body, WOCNCB, but rather by a state board of nursing or perhaps given by the university while earning the MSN. In some states, it is a practice-based designation to use CNS.

Question:
Does the APN WOCN certification meet the requirements for CMS for an APN, and thus the Medicare provider #?

The WOCNCB AP credentials would not meet the CMS requirements for an APN. The ability to obtain a Medicare provider number is based upon your advance practice credential, CNS or NP. Certifications of any type, including the WOCNCB credentials, enhance your scope of practice.
